The meal rate formula
Meal rate = total bazar cost ÷ total number of meals. A member’s food cost = their meals × the meal rate. Fixed costs (maid, wifi, gas) are usually shared equally.
Example
- Total bazar ৳18,000, total meals 600 → meal rate ৳30.
- Rafi ate 90 meals → food cost ৳2,700.
- Fixed costs ৳6,000 for 6 members → ৳1,000 each.
- Rafi’s total is ৳3,700. If he deposited and spent ৳4,000, he is owed ৳300.

Are fixed costs added to the meal rate?
Not in this calculator: fixed costs are shared equally among members, which is how most messes do it.
